I'm up. I have heartburn and I'm waiting for my Tums to work...
So all day yesterday I kept chuckling to myself while thinking how hilarious it would be that if someone asked me when we were due I could say, "Yesterday." I found it humorous only because it's, like, the biggest insult ever to tell a pregnant woman she looks like she was due yesterday...I kept waiting for my big opportunity...
We had a lazy start to our Saturday...Poor Nick was feeling lots better, but was (literally) drained from being so sick yesterday. We watched Navy kick the snot out of Army--which was, of course, a huge disappointment. But we have to remind ourselves that, the Marines aside, how tough is it for the Navy to recruit quality football players when all they have to do is sell hanging out on a boat for awhile versus deploy to a combat zone for a year at a time...No one's bitter in our house...
Nick then went to greet his parents at the airport and to enjoy some QT with them over lunch while I did some last minute grocery shopping and cleaning. We feel so blessed that our parents will be here to support us through this right of passage as we bring our baby girl into the world...And that our siblings will be here later in the week welcome her into the Horn and Odell families. How wonderful that our daughter can be born into the warm embrace of her whole family! Later in the evening, Nick and I went to Nashville to welcome my mom and dad after their marathon travel day (gotta love flight cancellations)!
We went for dinner at our favorite, Ted's Montana Grill in Nashville. Our waitress could not have been sweeter and was all excited about the baby bump, when, in unison, Mom, Dad and My Nick said, "ask her when she's due." The waitress totally played along and asked me the question I'd been hoping to hear all day...
"I was due yesterday!" It was the perfect way to end my day! :-)

My only consolation is this: JP was exactly 21 days overdue (yes, he was due Oct 9th).. they let that happen back in the day... so, Ali... if I could do it, you can too.. believe me it's worth the wait... still praying for a safe delivery, Ann
