We had a very mellow Thanksgiving this year, and it was wonderful. Emmy had a Thanksgiving feast at her school and we were so happy that we were all able to be there together! The night before, Emmy stayed up extra late to help me with preparations. She used the scrap dough to make her own little apple pie, while I made the pumpkin pies. It was so simple, but it will stick with me as a very special memory of time spent with my big girl. Thanksgiving morning was spent watching the Macy's Thanksgiving parade with our favorite cinnamon rolls and then playing outside. I put the final touches on our meal while the kiddos all napped and we ate dinner in our jammies (or princess dresses, or make-shift pilgrim ensemble, or no clothes if you were Juj.) We were, blessedly, able to share our Thanksgiving table via FaceTime with Uncle Grant, Uncle Ben, Auntie Eliana, Baby Hailey, Poppy and Grammy, who had just returned home from the hospital after a big knee surgery. After going for a little drive to look at Christmas lights while digesting our food, we came home for a very special Skype session to learn that we are welcoming another baby girl cousin next spring! And then we celebrated with pie!
