Fancy Nancy Party

After a yearlong hiatus, I just recently tested the waters with a couple of quick library outings.  I'm feeling more courageous with each visit, as I haven't yet made my exit under disproving stares, with a tantrum-y child flailing under my arm.  In our last excursion, I noticed a flier taped to the wall publicizing a "Fancy Nancy Party."  Emmy and I happen to be huge Fancy Nancy fans; so attending the soiree was made a priority in our weekend plans.

The party just so happened to fall on Andy's fifth birthday.  However unrelated, Emmy was convinced that she was celebrating Andy's birthday at the library.  It was really sweet.

We had a fabulous time, between the story, fashion show and crafts.  It was so nice to go on a Mommy-Emmy date; it seems like it's so rare for the two of us to spend alone time together anymore.  It was just like the old days, only I was accompanied by a slightly more mature, socially adept little sweetheart.

Storytime!
Emmy waiting in line to make her way down the runway during the fashion show.  When it was her turn, she walked to the middle of the carpet and then ran towards me to hide...Sweet baby doesn't like to be the center of attention, either.
Making crafts.
Emmy and the wonderful Fancy Nancy storyteller.
With my girl. :)

I'm still terrified of libraries and now my kids run straight to the computers. Great.
