We braved the poor air quality due to the raging wildfires and went to Tahoe fro our summer vacation. We spent the first couple of days just us hiking and boating and dining at our favorite Garwoods (we love the fried oreos!) While we were boating, the kids and Nick attempted to water ski! Nick spent over an hour in the chilly water helping the kids onto the skiis and I had on-the-job-training behind the wheel of the boat. The kids all helped with the "(wo)man down" flag, the ropes and documenting the adventure on my phone. They were so encouraging of each other! At one point, Hannah was able to stand up and there was whooping and hollering. I even heard "THAT'S MY SISTER!" Oh, it brings tears to my eyes to think about it! We saved tubing for last and it was for sure a fan favorite! There's nothing like being out on the water, we can't wait to go back! The rest of the Horn crew joined us for our last couple of days. We hung out, went kayaking and Stand Up Paddleboarding, and hiking. We wrapped up the trip with a visit to the lakeside ice creamery. We took over the outdoor seating while we scraped out cups clean and debated the pronunciation of "sherbet." Ben even polled the staff scooping our ice cream. Of course, google translate knows best and it was settled that it is, in fact, "sherBET," being that there is no second "r". Some are holding strong to their misguided ways, but, we still love them anyways. ;)
