Our big girl is a kindergartener at Escondido Elementary! She has been more than ready of quite some time, and came downstairs dressed, with shoes and backpack on at 630 Tuesday morning. She was so brave walking into her classroom and shaking her teacher, Mrs. Dungan's hand. My friend, Bridie, bless her soul, offered to take the three littles so that I could pick Emmy up from school and get her a special lunch. Nick rode his bike over and surprised both Emmy and I as she walked out the door. She had a wonderful day, and couldn't wait to get home to tell Emmy and Immie (Imogen) all about it. She instituted a game of teacher with the backpack-wearing littles not long after her return and started off her lecture telling/asking them, "Do we whine at school?? NOOOOO. Do we talk when the teacher is talking?? NOOOO." I decided that I like her teacher already!
Later that afternoon, Emmy realized that one of the little girls from her class, Ali, lives in our courtyard! They played together all afternoon along with Hannah and Immie. Before bedtime, Emmy gushed to me "Mommy, I had the most wonderful day today!"

Emmy, what a wonderful day and one that happens only once in your life. Isn't it great your Mom captured the whole memory for you. You are a lucky girl and the prettiest kindergarden student I know...love Grammy and Poppy
