Picking pumpkins! One of the many benefits to living on the edge of town is the many farms near to our home. This one in particular was four minutes away! Like most of our outings, it was fast and furious, but we left with a family of pumpkins and giant smiles on our faces!

This is how Sissy prefers to swing. |
Sissy is crying in most of the pictures we take. |
Last weekend, we went to our first trunk or treat organized by our church. This was a life-changing experience for Sissy, who learned that all you have to do was wear a costume and say "trick or treat" and people put candy in your bucket. She was literally dancing from car to car with a giant grin on her face. After the trunk or treat, Hannah eagerly assisted me with putting on her costume, a huge improvement over our initial struggle. |

Carving Pumpkins! |
Emmy, our little control freak, confiscated Sissy's pumpkin because she wasn't scraping out the guts properly. :-/ |
So, Sissy focused her energy on apples and caramel. |
Daddy has become quite the pumpkin carving aficionado! |
Because Daddy wasn't quite finished with his masterpiece, I carved a basic jack-o-lantern face into my pumpkin in about 2.5 minutes so Sissy could see it before bedtime. When I turned off the lights for the big reveal, she cried. |

We spent Halloween Eve making fun treats to take to school. If you look carefully, you can see Sissy peering through the cabinet door. That's where she likes to hang...

...until she moves on to the space between me and the counter. She's usually thoroughly ticked about something at this point.
The weather forecasters were calling for severe storms on Halloween, so we made a last-minute decision to go to another church trunk or treat on Wednesday night...Lucky for us, the town of Clarksville opted to celebrate Halloween on Friday night instead...It was the never-ending holiday! The kids did great trick-or treating (until Sissy got tired, dropped her bucket on the ground, hung her head, and cried until Nick carried her for the duration.) We lasted for about half an hour. I think the girls' favorite part, though, was passing out candy at the door! They were both giddy running to the door with Daddy every time there was a knock. :) Emmy
would even call downstairs from the bath tub to ask me what the "visitors" were wearing when I covered candy duty during bath time.

There's the Sissy I know and love! |
1/2 smiling?!? This is incredible odds considering the other 1/2 doesn't really smile yet! |
Jules is perplexed. |
Our minions! Nick decided what they were going to be this year...who knew he had such trendy taste in Halloween costumes? |
My first photo with all of our babies! |
Daddy's turn! |
Getting ready for the costume parade at school! |
She LOVED wearing make-up. :-P So much so, that she wore it all day long. |
The girls "helping" me make our "candy corn" fruit cups (pineapple, mandarin oranges and whipping cream) for dinner. |
Sissy "washing" the floor. By the looks at this picture, I should get her a tooth brush and show her how to scrub the grout! |
Making spooky pizzas...Too bad they didn't eat any of them. Sometimes I don't know why I bother.
:-P
Trying to get the whole fam in the frame! |
Daddy helping Sissy with her shoes. |
We left the candy bowl on the doorstep while we were out hitting the pavement. The girls were loading up their buckets as soon as we put it on the ground. :-P |
Sissy protesting. |
"Eeeed You!!" (Need you or hold me in Sissy speak) |
Halloween 2013 is in the books!

ReplyDeleteGreat post! What a Halloween in the Horn house :-)
ReplyDeleteDuuuude. You're more put together and doing more fun activities while managing baby twins than I am with a mere two children. You, my dear, are a rock star! And your children are adorable!
