Hannah's Half Birthday!

Hannah Banana, our precious little songbird, is 6 months old!!  She is officially a rolley-polley!  She hit that milestone at about 5 and a half months.  In the same week, we started "solids" with rice and oatmeal cereals.  She has also attempted bananas and avocados!  I use the term "eating solids" loosely, because I can't say that she's actually ingested much.  It took a couple of weeks for her to even open her mouth for the spoon...So far, oatmeal seems to be the biggest hit!  She took to her water sippy without any hesitation, though!

Little Miss has adopted a great napping schedule (wake-up around 7, play for an hour, naptime, play for about two hours, naptime and finally play for about three hours and an abbreviated naptime.)  Her naps usually range from an hour to two hours!  I have rarely been successful in getting both girls to nap at the same time, but there have been a handful of occasions that their daytime sleep schedules have aligned and it is GLORIOUS to have a few minutes to myself!

Nighttime sleep has been a bit of a different story.  Since Hannah started napping during the day, she began waking up at night to eat, once, twice and sometimes three times.  Ugh.  I've pretty much been a walking zombie for the last couple of months.  After shaking my fog and experiencing a brief moment of clarity, I decided to let her cry it out the last couple of nights.  Last night, she only woke up once around 11 and then slept until morning!  Big improvement!  I am keeping my fingers crossed that solid sleep, for the both of us is right around the corner...

...Except for the fact that Hannah has been chewing on everything in her path and drooling up a storm, leading me to believe that some teeth might be in her near future!  For now, I am cherishing her sweet gummy smile!

She is a patient little sweetheart, and is always ready with a smile.  She gives the tightest neck hugs (and the strongest hair pulls.)   She loves to stand with help and bounce, and adores getting attention from Emmy.  Hannah has a sweet girly voice and loves hitting the high notes (which has earned her the nickname Songbird.)  She especially loves it when we mimic her sounds.

Some photo documentation to mark my dear Hannah's half birthday:

Cuddling in her big sissy's bed.

Emmy's captive audience.

My smiley alarm clocks.

Being silly!

Dora on my computer so that I could grab a shower.

First day eating solids!  The high chair was packed away so the bumbo seat was the, very distant, next best thing.

Not so sure about this!
Rollin'!
Dance party with Sissy!!

Can't help but get lost in those dark brown eyes. :)

My bright idea: Turn Sesame Street songs on youtube while I try to take pictures.  The plan backfired because they both were entranced looking at the screen.  At least they stayed-put!

So much love!

What I got when I bribed them to look at the camera with another song on the computer.

Who is this creature that looks so much like me?  Could it be...Me?

Emmy insists on "helping Hannah" when we hear her making noises from her crib.
