Welcome Home Daddy!!
I am saving a thorough blog post indulging all of the details of homecoming day for one of Nick's later reintegration mornings...But I would like a share the fruits of my labor from today's morning briefing. I am sure that Thomas, my new friend from The Documentary Group in New York, who joined me for the celebration, would scoff at this little film, but I can't stop reliving the sheer joy that pulsed through my veins, no matter how "Blair Witch" it appears...

Hey Ali,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that your hubby is back!!! Give him a big hug from the Holtens!
-Sarah & Nick
A scene that, although repeated throughout many, many decades, never loses its sweetness. We can only pray that, one day, young men and women won't have such homecomings -- because they never had to leave home in the first place. I'm very, very proud of BOTH of you, Nick and Ali.

No matter what Thomas from NY has to say, you just stopped the two larger Landgrafs dead in our tracks with your amazing, impressively well focused (I'd be shaking all over the place!), and intimate video!!! (a nap is the only thing to stop the smallest of us- no offense.) Thanks so much for sharing what I know is one of the best days of your life with us!! WELCOME HOME NICK!!!! We are THRILLED you are back and can't thank all 5 of you (4 legged included) for what you gave and gave this past year for our country!! We hope you are having sweet sweet moments together redefining normal!
ReplyDeleteAli & Nick--
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a first. I just had to explain to Andy that sometimes a person can be so incredibly happy that they cry! I just wish my happy tears didn't look like a desperate ugly cry. I think I traumatized him. We love you guys immeasurably and have been thanking God every night for bringing home Uncle Nick safe and sound. Thank you so much for sharing this with us--it was WAY better than being in your pocket. xoxo.
Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words and for sharing our excitement. :) It means so much to us both to have so many amazingly supportive people on our team. :)
ReplyDeleteI really wish that I had been there. Nick, we are so proud of you. You are a very lucky man to have a wonderful family to come home to. Emmy, you are a very lucky girl to have such wonderful parents who love you so much. Ali, as always, I'm so proud of you and all you have done to support Nick and raise Emmy. Welcome home, Nick.
ReplyDeleteI am not a crier. I cried twice while watching this. You guys love each other so much. I'm so proud of all of you for making it through this!

ReplyDeleteAli and Nick,
ReplyDeleteThank you for allowing us to be a "part" of that special moment! The Pierces are thrilled that you are all back together. Nick, from the bottom of our hearts THANK YOU to you and your men. Without you our babies wouldn't be able to live the free life that they do. Praying Gods richest blessing on you this year!
