We spent the most idyllic New Year's at the cabin. We drove up on New Year's Eve, Kris and JP arriving a couple of hours before us. Low and behold, there had been a water leak under the sink and the floor was covered with water when they walked in. By the Grace of God, we were a minute away from the last hardware store within an hour and a half of the cabin. Dad instructed Nick what part was needed and we were able to buy it minutes before they closed for the holiday. Nick and JP were able to fix the part after we got there and we settled in for some fun and for SNOW! We made a time capsule with each of us completing a "this is me in 2015" page and a family Christmas card and buried it by the shed. New Year's Day, we had a full day of playing in the snow, flying down the steep driveway on saucers, building a snowman, plenty of hot cocoa, snow ice cream, sausage and sauerkraut and movies by the fire. The kids slept in the loft after staying up way too late telling jokes. There was no better way of ringing in 2016.
