Halloween Festivities 2020

For 2020, we had to re-think how to celebrate Halloween, and it turned out to be one of our best years yet! The kids had clear ideas of their Halloween costumes and were major players in designing and making them.  It's so much fun to watch them think so creatively.  One of the many blessings of living near all of our family is that we were able to enjoy the holiday with everyone!  We set up a "traveling Halloween party" in lieu of trick-or treating.  We first gathered at our home for pictures, Minute-To-Win-It games and a piñata.  Then we went to Grandpa Jack's house where Mimi treated us all to "ghost toast" and a bean bag toss.  We then went out to Ben and Eliana's home for a candy hunt and trivia game.  After that, we went to the Sacky's for a brilliant new game involving a candy egg hunt with a freeze dance and charades component.  We ended the night at Grammy and Poppy's for a yummy dinner.  It was a truly fantastic holiday!

Pumpkin patch excursion...The twins picked out their pumpkins!

Emmy and Hannah wanted to pick their at Costco with me after realizing the big price-tag at the patch. :-P

The kiddos even made it into the local newspaper!  Good thing they didn't snap the picture two minutes later when our wagon capsized and pumpkins went rolling down the slope. :-P

Beautiful!  We have some skilled carvers in the house!

Sweet Em had a piano recital early in the day on Halloween, little did we know her costume would befit her old time song,.

Our sweet little 3 year old neighbor, Day, was our first trick-or-treater!
