After Darla passed away and Mom and Dad sold their home in Danville, we brought Molly back to Stanford to be with us. Selfishly, we couldn't be away from her any longer. The only trouble being that she was not supposed to be there unless she was a certified support dog. Having her there was a comfort in some ways and extremely anxiety-producing in others. She would bark non-stop if we left her (we had confirmation from our neighbors) and she would make a run for it whenever the back gate was open, which happened often with all the traffic in and out of our place. There were so many times that our caring neighbors would scoop her up and bring her back to us. I ended up bringing her everywhere I went so that she wouldn't bark and bring unnecessary attention to our situation. I even took her grocery shopping and left her in the car with the windows cracked open so long as it wasn't too hot outside. Needless to say, it was a super stressful situation. After sharing my fears, Nick found a website that would send you a "emotional support dog" card for $40. Which was humorous, given her neuroses, I am more her emotional support human than she is my emotional support dog, but none-the-less, Molly is "officially" an Emotional Support Dog.
